Senior Patient Access Representative Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Patient Access Representative to join our team at UnitedHealth Group. As a Senior Patient Access Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth registration process for patients, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient information.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and welcome patients in person, providing a positive and professional experience.
  • Collect and verify demographic and insurance information, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Check in and interview patients to complete necessary paperwork, ensuring a seamless registration process.
  • Direct patients to their appointments or procedures, providing clear instructions and support.
  • Document any issues or resolutions in the electronic medical record, maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient information.
  • Use resources and tools to complete registration for complex accounts, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • May assist in scheduling add-on appointments, providing excellent customer service and support.
  • Verify eligibility and benefits information for payers, interpreting results and resolving complex billing situations.
  • Obtain cost information and explain it to patients, ensuring transparency and understanding.
  • Collect co-pays or deductibles, maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient information.
  • Assist patients in completing request for information forms and submitting them to the appropriate department.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of revenue cycle experience, with a focus on patient access and registration.
  • 2+ years of customer service experience, with a proven track record of providing exceptional service.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work 11:00am-7:30pm, Monday-Friday, with flexibility to adapt to changing needs.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with electronic medical records, with a focus on patient access and registration.
