Clinical Operations Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Operations Coordinator collaborates with the Facility Manager, medical personnel, and support staff to oversee the daily operations of the healthcare facility, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care in alignment with organizational standards and protocols. This role provides essential nursing support to both patients and staff, facilitating effective communication and coordination among all parties involved.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support and uphold the organization's quality benchmarks by adhering to regulatory standards and implementing Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) practices.
- Ensure high-quality patient care by collaborating with management to adhere to established policies and procedures.
- Proactively address and manage adverse events, maintaining compliance with safety protocols.
- Oversee data collection and auditing processes, ensuring the integrity of medical records and operational documentation.
- Guide and supervise facility staff in executing safe and effective vascular access procedures, in accordance with established guidelines.
- Delegate responsibilities to direct patient care personnel, including nursing staff and administrative coordinators.
- Manage staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage and address patient care needs effectively.
- Monitor and assess patient care staff performance, providing guidance and support as necessary.
- Assist in the evaluation of staff performance and participate in the recruitment and training of new personnel.
- Coordinate patient care processes from admission to discharge, ensuring comprehensive education for patients and their families regarding vascular access procedures.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient treatments and ensure compliance with facility policies.
- Administer medications and sedation as per physician directives, adhering to all regulatory requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement meetings and collaborate with physicians to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure the proper functioning of medical equipment and maintain a safe, sanitary environment within the facility.
- Engage in cost management initiatives, optimizing the use of resources to meet organizational goals.
- Contribute to the development and revision of facility policies to promote continuous improvement.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure the confidentiality of patient information.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This role requires interaction with patients, staff, and medical professionals in a healthcare setting, with responsibilities that may involve travel between various facilities.
- The work environment is typical of a healthcare facility, with standard temperature control and moderate noise levels.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (R.N.) is required.
- Current state licensure and ACLS certification are mandatory.
- ASC certification is preferred.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- A minimum of three years of experience in an Ambulatory Surgical Center or related field is preferred.
- Experience in Interventional Radiology and supervisory roles is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with medical database software is essential.
- Strong leadership and communication skills are necessary to effectively manage staff and ensure high-quality patient care.
