POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Operations Coordinator collaborates with the Facility Manager, medical personnel, and support staff to streamline facility operations and enhance patient procedures, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care in alignment with organizational standards and protocols. This role encompasses nursing support for both patients and staff, while also overseeing staffing, training, equipment management, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Champion the organization's quality standards by adhering to regulatory guidelines and implementing Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) practices.
- Ensure high-quality patient care by collaborating with senior management to uphold organizational policies and procedures.
- Proactively address adverse events and maintain compliance with data collection and auditing processes.
- Supervise facility staff in executing safe and effective vascular access procedures, ensuring adherence to established standards.
- Delegate tasks to patient care staff, including RNs and support personnel, to optimize operational efficiency.
- Manage daily staffing schedules and assess patient needs to allocate care assignments effectively.
- Monitor patient care staff for compliance with facility policies and provide guidance as necessary.
- Assist in staff performance evaluations and participate in recruitment and training initiatives.
- Coordinate patient care activities from admission to discharge, ensuring comprehensive education for patients and their families regarding vascular access procedures.
- Oversee the scheduling of patient procedures to maximize facility utilization.
- Participate in emergency response efforts, maintaining proficiency in emergency protocols and procedures.
- Administer medications and IV sedation in accordance with physician directives and regulatory standards.
- Engage in meetings with the Governing Body and CQI initiatives, contributing to agenda preparation and data collection.
- Ensure the proper functioning of medical equipment and maintain a clean, safe environment within the facility.
- Participate in cost management initiatives, focusing on the efficient use of resources and supplies.
- Contribute to the development and revision of facility policies to promote continuous improvement.
- Manage medication inventory and compliance with legal requirements regarding controlled substances.
- Ensure accurate medical records and documentation prior to patient discharge, conducting regular audits.
- Participate in regulatory surveys and address identified deficiencies.
- Act as the Facility Manager in their absence, assuming leadership responsibilities as needed.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This role involves desk work, computer usage, and interaction with patients and staff, requiring travel between facilities.
- The work environment is typical of a healthcare facility, with controlled temperatures and moderate noise levels, and potential exposure to infectious materials.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program (R.N.) with current state licensure and ACLS certification.
- Preferred experience includes a minimum of three years in an Ambulatory Surgical Center or related fields.
- Demonstrated supervisory skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and medical database software are essential.
