Senior Estate Planning Counsel

Position Summary:
The Senior Estate Planning Counsel will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive estate planning services to clients. This position involves the formulation and oversight of wills, trusts, and other essential estate planning instruments. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with clients to grasp their financial and familial aspirations, perform legal research, draft pertinent legal documents, and offer strategic counsel to facilitate the realization of clients' estate planning goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft essential legal documents for estate planning, including but not limited to last wills and testaments, personal property memoranda, financial powers of attorney, healthcare powers of attorney, living wills, HIPAA releases, beneficiary deeds, living trusts, and other associated documents.
- Conduct and lead client consultations, both virtually and in-person, to evaluate client needs and provide customized legal guidance.
- Employ advanced technology platforms to optimize processes and improve client communication.
- Oversee client cases through a structured pipeline from initial consultation to document execution and ongoing management.
- Collaborate with other professionals such as financial advisors, accountants, and insurance specialists to deliver holistic estate planning solutions.
- Remain updated on legislative changes and regulations impacting estate planning, ensuring adherence to all legal standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage the legal components of all estate planning cases.
Qualifications:
- Licensed attorney in good standing.
- Exceptional drafting skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Capability to manage multiple client cases simultaneously.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- High proficiency in utilizing technology platforms for legal practice management.
- Dedication to upholding client confidentiality and trust.
Experience:
- Prior experience in estate planning matters is preferred, whether as a licensed attorney or law clerk (1+ years).
Education:
- Juris Doctor Degree
- Bachelor's Degree
Attendance Requirements:
- Daily attendance (primarily virtual) is expected during standard business hours.
- In-person attendance is required for initial training, companywide meetings, and select client and team meetings.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time role. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary based on job demands.
Travel:
Travel, if necessary, is mainly local during business hours, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be anticipated.
