Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Senior Estate Planning Counsel will play a pivotal role in delivering thorough estate planning solutions to clients. This position involves the formulation and oversight of essential estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, and related legal instruments. The attorney will engage closely with clients to comprehend their financial aspirations and family dynamics, perform legal analysis, draft necessary documentation, and offer strategic guidance to facilitate the realization of clients' estate planning goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft essential legal documents for estate planning, including but not limited to last wills, personal property memoranda, financial powers of attorney, healthcare directives, living wills, HIPAA authorizations, beneficiary deeds, living trusts, and other pertinent documents.
  • Conduct and facilitate client consultations, both virtually and face-to-face, to evaluate client requirements and deliver customized legal counsel.
  • Employ advanced technology tools to optimize workflows and improve client interactions.
  • Oversee client cases through a structured process from initial consultation to document finalization and ongoing support.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including financial advisors, accountants, and insurance experts, to provide holistic estate planning strategies.
  • Remain updated on legislative changes and regulations impacting estate planning, ensuring adherence to all legal standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· Oversee the legal aspects of all estate planning matters.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a licensed attorney in good standing.
  • Exceptional drafting capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple client cases simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in utilizing technology for legal practice management.
  • Dedication to upholding client confidentiality and trust.

Experience:

  • Prior experience in estate planning is preferred, whether as a licensed attorney or legal assistant (minimum of 1 year).

Educational Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor Degree.
  • Bachelor's Degree.

Attendance Expectations:

  • Regular attendance (primarily virtual) is required during standard business hours.
  • In-person attendance is necessary for initial training, company meetings, and select client interactions.

Position Type and Work Hours:

· This is a full-time role. Workdays are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required based on job responsibilities.

Travel Requirements:

· Travel, if necessary, will primarily be local during business hours, with some potential for out-of-area and overnight travel.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

The physical demands of this position include the ability to stand for extended periods, walk, sit, communicate effectively, and occasionally lift up to ten pounds. Mental capabilities required include problem-solving, decision-making, data interpretation, and effective communication.
