Position Overview

We are in search of a seasoned and proactive Senior Financial Executive to oversee financial operations and Human Resources at Arkansas Foodbank. This role is pivotal in defining the financial vision, strategic planning, and operational management of the organization. Responsibilities include directing budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and ensuring adherence to financial regulations.

The Senior Financial Executive will collaborate closely with the executive leadership team to enhance financial viability, uncover growth avenues, and optimize resource distribution to further the organization's mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, develop, and execute all financial functions and related administrative processes for Arkansas Foodbank, ensuring precise and timely financial data is prepared for the Board of Directors and internal management.
  • Partner with Human Resource personnel to facilitate effective talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and overall workforce strategy.
  • Guarantee the financial stability and sustainability of the organization while nurturing a productive workplace culture.
  • Design, implement, and refine internal controls over financial operations.
  • Maintain a high level of accountability and compliance in managing federally funded programs.
  • Participate in Board of Directors meetings and various committees as required.
  • Act as a staff representative to the finance and investment committees of the Board of Directors.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff and volunteers in bookkeeping, accounting, and office procedures.
  • Coordinate annual audits and tax submissions.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Executive Officer and relevant staff to prepare the annual budget proposal for the Board of Directors.
  • Enhance the budgeting process through educating department managers on financial matters affecting their budgets.
  • Establish purchasing protocols and oversee procurement functions.
  • Supervise activities and responsibilities managed by subordinate employees.
  • Review and manage the organization's business insurance requirements.
  • Maintain records of rental and lease agreements for properties and equipment.
  • Engage as a member of the management team, attend team meetings, and provide support across various areas of the Foodbank as necessary.
  • Represent the organization at relevant community and Feeding America meetings.
  • Stay informed about current events and issues that may influence Foodbank programs.
  • Contribute to organizational planning, development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and adjustments as part of the management team.
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings, training sessions, and conferences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office setting. The employee may frequently encounter varying weather conditions and is required to use standard office equipment. Regular tasks include sitting, walking, standing, and using hands for repetitive actions. The role may require lifting or moving items up to 20 pounds.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is required.
  • Master's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Professional certification as a Certified Public Accountant is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance in a senior management capacity.
  • Experience in managing Human Resources is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in team management.
  • Proficient in computer operations, including accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • A valid driver's license and proof of insurance are required.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
