About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Supervisor to join our team at the City of Asheville, NC. As a key member of our Public Works department, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Streets - Utility Cut Program and Right Of Way Cut Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct a team of employees, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project completion.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and methods to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage financial activities, including budgeting and resource allocation, to ensure optimal use of resources.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory, preparing reports and analyzing data to inform decision-making.
  • Coordinate projects and work activities, ensuring timely completion and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Respond to complaints and code violations, maintaining a thorough knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in Business, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Five years of experience in Standards and Specification and Ordinances inspection and enforcement, including lead or supervisory experience.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to analyze data, make informed decisions, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
