Job Description:

A semi-skilled laborer plays a vital role in supporting construction projects by performing various tasks that require moderate levels of skill and expertise. These workers typically work under the supervision of skilled tradespeople and assist in the execution of construction projects, ensuring smooth operations and timely completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist skilled workers in carrying out construction tasks, such as carpentry, masonry, electrical work, plumbing, and HVAC installation.
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment to the worksite, ensuring the availability of necessary supplies at the required locations.
  • Prepare construction sites by cleaning, clearing debris, and removing obstacles to facilitate construction activities.
  • Operate and maintain various construction tools and equipment, such as drills, saws, concrete mixers, and power tools, following safety protocols.
  • Assist in demolition activities, including dismantling structures, removing debris, and disposing of materials appropriately.
  • Provide support in activities like digging trenches, pouring concrete, setting up scaffolding, and erecting temporary structures.
  • Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks on construction equipment and tools to ensure their proper functioning.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow, report progress, and address any concerns or issues that may arise.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in the construction industry or related field is preferred but not always required, as on-the-job training may be provided.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Proficiency in using common hand and power tools, as well as the ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Knowledge of construction site safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for oneself and others.
  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team, taking instructions from supervisors and assisting coworkers as needed.
  • Willingness to learn and perform a variety of construction tasks, adapting to changing project requirements and work environments.
  • Demonstrated punctuality, dependability, and a strong work ethic to meet project deadlines and maintain consistent attendance.

A successful Drug Screening is required. We are an E-Verify E.O.E. Company. Semi-Skilled applicants must have hand tools. Overtime and/or weekend work is a possibility.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary.

Hourly rate: $17.00.

Work Schedule: 10-hour shift, 8-hour shift.

Work Location: One location.
