Position Overview

Role: Cybersecurity Education Facilitator

Work Arrangement: This role offers the flexibility of remote work, provided the candidate resides in California or New Mexico.

Location: San Diego, CA and Albuquerque, NM

Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Dean of Education.

Employment Classification: Non-Exempt, Part-Time (Variable-Hour)

Teaching Responsibilities:

  • Conduct synchronous online classes via Microsoft Teams on designated days.
  • Design and implement instructional strategies that enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning needs.
  • Utilize effective communication techniques to convey subject matter in an online format.
  • Maintain current certifications relevant to the subjects taught.

Subject Matter Expertise:

  • Exhibit comprehensive knowledge in the field of cybersecurity.
  • Integrate related disciplines into the curriculum.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of industry trends.

Compliance and Collaboration:

  • Ensure accurate and timely updates to student records.
  • Adhere to accreditation standards and institutional policies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to foster a supportive educational environment.
  • Maintain professional attire as outlined in the employee handbook.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution, along with relevant certifications.
  • Preferred certifications include CISSP, CEH, and CompTIA Security+.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in cybersecurity or two years of teaching experience.
  • Experience with online teaching methodologies is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and learning management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and demonstrate professionalism.

Work Environment:

This position is remote, requiring a dedicated home office setup. Employees are expected to maintain data security and confidentiality while using standard office equipment. Compliance with work hour expectations and time tracking is essential.
