Position Overview

The Sustainable Finance Campaign Coordinator will be responsible for crafting and executing strategic initiatives aligned with our campaign goals, serving as the organizational expert on sustainable finance. This role will involve close collaboration with the Campaigns team, including the Global Campaigns Director and the Campaigns and Field Senior Vice President, to integrate sustainable finance into our broader organizational efforts and effectively communicate our impact.

The Coordinator will remain informed about the latest developments in sustainable finance, providing training and insights to internal stakeholders regularly. They will cultivate relationships with coalition partners and funders, working alongside various teams to engage and mobilize external partners, volunteers, and communities in financing a just transition to renewable energy.

This position reports to the Campaigns and Field Senior Vice President and is part of the Campaigns team without direct staff management responsibilities.

This is a full-time, exempt position with benefits. My Green Montgomery offers a flexible hybrid work schedule, promoting collaboration among team members.

Key Responsibilities

General

  • Develop and refine the overall strategy and implementation plans for the sustainable finance campaign.
  • Act as the organization's subject matter expert on sustainable finance, providing regular training and briefings to enhance internal understanding and external visibility.
  • Collaborate with the Advancement department to identify and secure funding opportunities while managing relationships with finance-related funders.
  • Monitor and report on the impact of our initiatives related to sustainable finance, ensuring timely compliance with grant requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Training and Events team to support training content and collaborate with the Science, Solutions, and Policy Team on strategic actions for community engagement.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with climate finance coalitions, working closely with relevant teams to enhance community involvement.
  • Engage with the Digital and Creative teams to produce communication materials that raise public awareness about the significance of sustainable finance.
  • Work with the Science, Solutions, and Policy team to ensure all campaign materials are grounded in a solid understanding of sustainable finance's role in addressing climate change.
  • Contribute to the improvement of organizational operations and culture through participation in work groups and training initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of various campaign strategies and the ability to translate them into actionable plans.
  • Demonstrated experience in coalition building and grassroots organizing.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate across departments and manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking proficiency.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to My Green Montgomery's mission and a solid understanding of climate and environmental issues.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Professional proficiency in a language other than English is highly desirable.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work are required.

Education and Experience

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in sustainable finance.
  • Experience working with diverse groups and understanding cultural diversity through an equity lens.
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing strategic campaigns for environmental or climate justice.
  • Experience with funders, including grant writing and impact reporting, is highly desirable.
