Position Overview

The Sustainable Finance Campaign Coordinator will devise and execute actionable strategies aligned with the campaign objectives and serve as the organizational expert on sustainable finance.

This role involves close collaboration with the Campaigns team, including the Global Campaigns Director and the Campaigns and Field Senior Vice President, to integrate sustainable finance into the broader organizational initiatives and ensure accurate measurement of our impact and effective storytelling.

The Coordinator will remain informed about the latest research, trends, and focal points in sustainable finance, providing training, briefings, and guidance to internal stakeholders regularly.

They will establish and maintain relationships with coalition partners and funders, working in conjunction with the Field, Partnerships, Training and Events, and Climate and Environmental Justice teams to further engage and mobilize external partners, funders, and community members on financing a just transition to clean, renewable energy.

This is a full-time, exempt, benefits-eligible, hybrid position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Finalize and socialize the overall strategy and theory of change with guidance from the Campaigns and Field Senior Vice President, and develop concrete implementation plans for the sustainable finance global campaign.
  • Act as the organization's subject matter expert on sustainable finance and related policies, regularly providing training and briefings to enhance internal understanding and external visibility of the organization's efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Advancement department to identify, cultivate, and secure funding, managing relationships with finance-related funders as appropriate.
  • Report on impact areas across the organization and with local branches related to sustainable finance, leading the collection, evaluation, and analysis of impact data.
  • Utilize this information to create outcomes and compliance reports in line with grant and organizational requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Training and Events team to support training content and with the Science, Solutions, and Policy Team to identify strategic policy actions that our branches, chapters, and volunteers can undertake.
  • Build and maintain relationships with sustainable finance coalition partners, coordinating closely with Climate and Environmental Justice and Partnerships teams to maximize engagement.
  • Engage with Digital, Creative, and Communications teams to develop press releases, blogs, social media content, and other materials to raise public awareness about the significance of sustainable finance in addressing the climate crisis.
  • Work proactively with the Science, Solutions, and Policy team to ensure that all campaign materials are grounded in a solid understanding of international sustainable finance's role in addressing the climate crisis and supporting a just transition.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our operations and culture by participating in work groups, assisting with onboarding and training of colleagues, and engaging in efforts to assess and strengthen our practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in sustainable finance.
  • Proven experience in coalition building, engagement, grassroots organizing, and project management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to My Green Montgomery's mission and a demonstrated understanding of climate and environmental issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional proficiency in a language other than English is highly desirable.
