The Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) is seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented interns to join its Sustainable and Inclusive Finance (SIFT) team. As a member of the SIFT team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, including loan origination, due diligence, and monitoring.
Responsibilities- Assist in the review of loan applications and financial statements
- Build and analyze financial models to forecast project cash flows
- Conduct research on various policy issues related to sustainable and inclusive finance
- Prepare country economic and political risk analyses
- Collaborate with investment officers to present loan proposals to approval committees
- Work with project teams to construct term sheets, negotiate loan agreement terms, and process disbursement requests
- Must be a United States citizen actively enrolled in a relevant graduate degree program
- Have a graduate-level academic concentration in business, international affairs/development, economics, or finance
- Previous experience in a financial institution, social enterprise, or impact investing is highly desired
- Excellent research and communication skills, as well as proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
As an intern with the SIFT team, you will gain valuable experience in sustainable and inclusive finance, working with a team of experienced professionals in the field. You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills in financial analysis, modeling, and communication.
