This position is integral to Blue Origin Operations, which encompasses Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security, providing essential Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all our facilities.

As a member of a small, dedicated team of specialists, you will engage in the design, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of systems linked to space vehicle launch and testing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
- Design piping systems for launch pads, test stands, and other facilities that support cryogenic and gaseous pneumatic systems.
- Conduct fluid and structural analyses of new or revised designs.
- Select components and collaborate on safety and process hazard analyses.
- Guide the creation of models and drawings for designs.
- Perform analyses at both system and component levels, documenting results.
- Draft and review specifications and statements of work.
- Draft and review operational procedures.
- Coordinate with suppliers regarding costs, schedules, and technical design requirements.
- Oversee the fabrication, installation, and commissioning of new or modified fluid systems.
- Provide insights on cost, schedule, and technical requirements to internal stakeholders.
- Occasional travel may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering (or a related field).
- At least one year of experience in a similar capacity.
- Proficiency in the design and analysis of piping/tubing systems, with experience using specific analysis tools (e.g., CAEPipe, Bentley AutoPipe, CEASAR).
- Familiarity with solid modeling or plant modeling, design lifecycle documentation, and configuration control.
- Experience in creating fabrication and installation drawings.
- Knowledge of standard components and methods for installing and fabricating piping systems (including pipe stock, fittings, connections, valves, fasteners, and structural members).
- Understanding of fluid components typically found in tubing and piping systems (such as valves, regulators, and pumps).
- Demonstrated ability to self-initiate and manage tasks while collaborating effectively with a team.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Engineering degree.
- Over three years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of ASME B31.3 and in-field oversight of construction, testing, and/or operations of piping systems.
- Experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD P&ID.
- Familiarity with steady-state and transient fluid flow analysis.
- Experience with structural hand calculations and analysis software tools (such as ANSYS, NASTRAN).
- Knowledge of precision cleaning processes and passivation of stainless steel.
