Position Overview

Our client is a dynamic independent sponsor situated in Miami, FL, focusing on the lower middle market by investing in companies within the business services and essential services sectors. The firm targets enterprises with an EBITDA of $3M and revenues ranging from $20M to $150M. To date, they have successfully invested in 25 companies across three platforms and are preparing to close their inaugural fund.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • Lead the transaction team, overseeing multiple workstreams concurrently.
  • Manage all aspects of the deal process, including origination, modeling, due diligence, execution, and exit strategies.
  • Analyze business plans, articulate investment theses, and negotiate letters of intent effectively.
  • Possess a deep understanding of complex financial modeling, including sensitivity analyses to evaluate investment opportunities.
  • Assist in preparing and presenting investment proposals to the firm's Investment Committee.
  • Mentor junior staff and share best practices related to modeling and deal processes.
  • Engage in negotiations on behalf of the firm for new investments, including partnership arrangements and financing agreements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry and professional organizations to enhance the firm's visibility.
  • Manage a network of contacts for due diligence and deal flow generation.
  • Identify new market segments for potential investments and collaborate with the business development team to engage target companies.
  • Facilitate deal flow to the firm.
  • Collaborate with portfolio company management teams throughout the deal process and post-closing activities.
  • Review portfolio company valuations.
  • Conduct market research to evaluate growth potential.
  • Represent the firm as a board member for portfolio companies.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong academic background.
  • Advanced ability to review and interpret financial statements with a solid understanding of accounting principles.
  • Mature, responsible, and motivated individual; complements the existing private equity transaction team.
  • Highly analytical with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Prior transaction experience on either the buy or sell side.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Clear and concise business writing abilities.
  • Experience in lower middle market private equity is advantageous.
  • Investment banking experience is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience.
