About the Position
Our client is a rapidly expanding independent sponsor based in Miami, FL. The firm concentrates on the lower middle market, investing in companies within the business services and essential services sectors. They seek companies with $3M EBITDA and revenues ranging from $20M to $150M. The firm has successfully invested in 25 companies across three platforms and is preparing to close their inaugural fund.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:
- Lead the transaction team, overseeing and managing multiple workstreams concurrently.
- Exhibit the capability to handle all aspects of the deal process: origination, modeling, due diligence, execution, and exit strategies.
- Analyze business plans, articulate an investment thesis, and negotiate letters of intent effectively.
- Possess a strong understanding of complex financial modeling, including sensitivity analysis, to evaluate potential investment opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of investment proposals to the firm's Investment Committee.
- Mentor junior staff and disseminate best practices within the firm.
- Participate in and occasionally lead negotiations for new investments, addressing partnership arrangements and financing agreements.
- Establish and nurture relationships with industry, trade, and professional organizations to enhance the firm's visibility.
- Manage a network of contacts for due diligence and deal flow generation.
- Identify new market segments for potential investments and collaborate with the business development team to engage target companies.
- Bring deal flow opportunities to the firm.
- Collaborate effectively with portfolio company management teams throughout the deal process and post-closing activities.
- Review portfolio company valuations.
- Conduct market research to evaluate a company's growth potential.
- Represent the firm as a board member for portfolio companies.
Additional Qualifications:
- Strong academic background.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements with advanced accounting knowledge.
- Mature, responsible, and motivated; complement the existing private equity transaction team.
- Highly analytical, with a preference for data-driven decision-making.
- Prior transaction experience on either the buy or sell side.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Clear and concise business writing abilities.
- Experience in lower middle market private equity is advantageous.
- Investment banking experience is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience.
