About the Role
Our client is a rapidly expanding independent sponsor situated in Miami, FL. The firm concentrates on the lower middle market, investing in companies within the business services and essential services sectors. They seek to invest in firms with $3M EBITDA and revenues ranging from $20M to $150M. The firm has successfully invested in 25 companies across three platforms and is preparing to close its inaugural fund.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:
- Lead the transaction team, managing multiple workstreams concurrently.
- Oversee all aspects of the deal process, including origination, modeling, due diligence, execution, and exit strategies.
- Analyze business plans, articulate investment theses, and negotiate letters of intent effectively.
- Possess a deep understanding of complex financial modeling, including sensitivity analyses to evaluate potential investment opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of investment recommendations to the firm’s Investment Committee.
- Mentor junior staff and share best practices related to modeling and deal processes.
- Engage in negotiations on behalf of the firm for new investments, including partnership arrangements and financing agreements.
- Build and maintain relationships with industry and professional organizations to enhance the firm’s visibility.
- Manage a network of contacts for due diligence and deal flow generation.
- Identify new market segments for potential investments and collaborate with the business development team to engage target companies.
- Bring deal flow opportunities to the firm.
- Collaborate with portfolio company management teams throughout the deal process and post-closing phases.
- Review portfolio company valuations and conduct market research to assess growth potential.
- Represent the firm as a board member for portfolio companies.
Further Qualifications:
- Strong academic credentials.
- Ability to interpret financial statements with advanced accounting knowledge.
- Mature, responsible, and motivated; complementing the existing private equity transaction team.
- Highly analytical, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Previous transaction experience on either the buy or sell side.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Clear and concise business writing abilities.
- Experience in lower middle market private equity is advantageous.
- Investment banking background is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience.
