About the Role

Our client is a rapidly expanding independent sponsor situated in Miami, FL. The firm concentrates on the lower middle market, investing in companies within the business services and essential services sectors. They focus on businesses with $3M EBITDA and revenues ranging from $20M to $150M. To date, the firm has successfully invested in 25 companies across three platforms.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • Lead the transaction team, managing multiple workstreams concurrently.
  • Oversee all aspects of the deal process, including origination, modeling, due diligence, execution, and exit strategies.
  • Analyze business plans, articulate investment theses, and negotiate letters of intent effectively.
  • Possess a deep understanding of complex financial modeling, including sensitivity analyses to evaluate investment opportunities.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of investment proposals to the firm's Investment Committee.
  • Mentor junior staff and disseminate best practices within the firm.
  • Engage in negotiations on behalf of the firm regarding new investments, including partnership arrangements and financing agreements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry and professional organizations to enhance the firm's visibility.
  • Manage a network of contacts for due diligence and deal flow generation.
  • Identify new market segments for potential investments and collaborate with the business development team to engage target companies.
  • Drive deal flow to the firm.
  • Collaborate with portfolio company management teams throughout the deal process and post-closing activities.
  • Review portfolio company valuations.
  • Conduct market research to evaluate a company's growth potential.
  • Represent the firm as a board member for portfolio companies.

Further Qualifications:

  • Strong academic background.
  • Ability to interpret financial statements with advanced accounting knowledge.
  • Mature, responsible, and motivated; complement the existing private equity transaction team.
  • Highly analytical, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Previous transaction experience on either the buy or sell side.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Clear and concise business writing abilities.
  • Experience in lower middle market private equity is a plus.
  • Investment banking experience is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience.
