Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Inspector to join our team at Arizona State University. As a Fire Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring fire safety and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, codes, and university requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct scheduled inspections of university-owned buildings and properties to ensure fire safety and compliance.
  • Provide fire safety construction plans review for new construction, tenant improvements, and deferred submittals.
  • Perform on-site construction inspections to approve fire safety systems and finalize buildings to be occupied.
  • Review special event requests and issue operational permits, fire safety guidelines as required to ensure compliance with fire and life safety regulations and code requirements.
  • Perform required fire and evacuation drills for all dormitories and ambulatory care facilities.
  • Respond to emergency calls related to fire and life safety providing investigations and inspections.
Requirements
  • Associates degree in Fire Administration, Public Administration, or related field and at least four (4) years of related experience.
  • Certification as Fire Inspector I.
  • FEMA ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 500, ICS 600, ICS 700, ICS 800 certifications.
  • Valid Arizona State Drivers License within 90 days of start date.
