Position Overview: Technical Sales Engineer - West

Role Summary:

As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will provide comprehensive sales and technical assistance for the Sterile Transfer division within Getinge's North America Life Science sector. Utilize your understanding of our offerings and marketing strategies to drive responsible profit margins and enhance market share, contributing to the overall success of Getinge Life Science.

Your responsibilities will include collaborating with sales teams to devise strategies for engaging priority accounts and nurturing key relationships. You will manage remote sales of our Sterile Transfer products across the U.S. and Canada, targeting OEMs as well as Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology clients.

This role encompasses the Western territory, including various states. Candidates must reside within this region and be conveniently located near a major airport.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet and exceed sales, growth, and profit margin objectives for the Sterile Transfer segment within Life Science.
  • Conduct both in-person and remote sales efforts for Getinge's Sterile Transfer products across the U.S. and Canada.
  • Identify and engage both existing and prospective customers to expand market presence.
  • Collaborate with sales and business analysts to develop strategies for optimal account penetration.
  • Review Sterile Transfer RFQs, qualifying project scopes through customer interactions and preparing quotations.
  • Support Life Science Sales teams through joint calls, site visits, technical solutions, and bid reviews.
  • Develop and monitor account-planning activities, ensuring timely updates and reports.
  • Utilize company-provided tools for customer relationship management and internal operations.
  • Communicate effectively with business analysts and factory personnel regarding product value and applications.
  • Provide market insights to the business analysis and R&D teams.
  • Maintain professional relationships with customers, adhering to Getinge's Code of Conduct and Values.
  • Participate in training sessions and on-the-job training, applying knowledge gained to enhance performance.
  • Attend conferences and trade shows as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in strategic selling of capital equipment and consumables, focusing on customer-centric solutions.
  • Familiarity with RFP and RFQ processes, including preparation and presentation.
  • Knowledge of biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes, particularly final fill/finish.
  • Strong grasp of mechanical principles related to aseptic transfer.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Strong organizational, strategic planning, and detail-oriented skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 50% within the U.S. and Canada.

Experience and Educational Background:

  • A minimum of 2 years of sales experience in the Pharmaceutical/Biotech sector, focusing on consumables and/or equipment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or applied sciences is preferred.
