Position Overview:

The Speech-Language Pathologist will play a crucial role in assessing and treating individuals with speech and language disorders. Responsibilities include:

• Conducting thorough evaluations to identify communication issues and developing tailored therapy plans.
• Performing audiometric screenings and coordinating referrals for additional audiology services as needed.
• Implementing speech-language therapy plans based on physician directives and maintaining ongoing communication with healthcare providers.
• Documenting progress through written evaluations, notes, and discharge summaries for all residents in the therapy program.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for residents.
• Participating in care planning meetings and contributing to the development of resident care strategies.
• Maintaining accurate records for statistical reporting and compliance with Medicare billing requirements.
• Engaging in staff training and in-service education to enhance the skills of facility personnel involved in resident care.

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Valid state license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Clinical Competence Certification from the American Speech and Hearing Association is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Demonstrated professionalism, maturity, and ability to work collaboratively with others.

This position requires regular interaction with residents and staff, necessitating proficiency in the English language at an intermediate level or higher.
