Lead Financial Accountant for Enterprise Solutions

Vaco is conducting a confidential search for a prominent player in the BioTech Research sector seeking a Senior Financial Accountant based in the Greater Boston area. This hybrid role is tailored for a seasoned professional in the accounting domain, responsible for a diverse range of tasks related to financial reporting, compliance, and corporate accounting. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with senior leadership, divisional finance teams, and the corporate consolidation group to uphold the accuracy and integrity of financial statements and regulatory submissions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the preparation and analysis of consolidated financial statements, including footnotes, disclosures, and supporting documentation.
- Engage with regional teams on lease accounting processes, ensuring proper classification, accurate scheduling, and reconciliation of lease accounts.
- Prepare and review financial data for SEC filings, including 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and proxy statements, ensuring timely and precise reporting.
- Guarantee compliance with FASB standards, SEC regulations, and internal accounting policies.
- Conduct thorough reviews of financial data to ensure adherence to accounting standards and organizational policies.
- Investigate and resolve complex accounting and SEC reporting issues, providing guidance at both corporate and divisional levels.
- Create and present materials for executive management, emphasizing key financial insights and compliance matters.
- Manage relationships with external auditors during annual audits and quarterly reviews, ensuring financial data is accurate and compliant.
- Analyze financial outcomes and generate management reports to support strategic decision-making.
- Assist in the development, maintenance, and testing of the company's financial and accounting control policies.
- Complete government surveys and compliance forms as required by regulatory authorities.
- Support the research and implementation of new accounting standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Lead initiatives within the finance team to enhance internal controls and operational efficiency.
- Execute special accounting projects and ad hoc tasks as necessary.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration across various functional areas to support organizational objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-4 years of experience in corporate accounting or financial reporting; experience with a Big Four accounting firm and CPA certification is highly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; experience with SAP and consolidation software (e.g., BPC, Hyperion) is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of US-GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
- Broad understanding of accounting principles and financial practices.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Valid Driver's License and U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status required.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
