We are looking for a Lead Financial Education Specialist to oversee the delivery of financial coaching and manage various financial education initiatives, including the Financial Literacy Academy, personalized financial coaching sessions, and a range of workshops and conferences. This role also involves co-managing the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individualized financial coaching and case management to clients; arrange sessions to address specific financial and credit management issues; connect clients with relevant resources within Community Teamwork and the broader community; conduct intake and data collection to ensure effective outcome measurement for funding reports. Assist households in stabilizing their income by facilitating access to community resources.

Oversee the Financial Literacy Academy, which includes organizing events, recruiting volunteer instructors, leading workshops, and coordinating logistics such as venue, catering, and childcare.

Plan and execute specialized events such as Financially Hers and Money Talks Youth Conference.

Conduct outreach and deliver workshop presentations. Collaborate with program staff and other departments to enhance knowledge in banking, saving, budgeting, and personal finance management. Facilitate family financial events in the Greater Lowell area, working with schools and local financial institutions to provide workshops and report on outcomes to the Director.

Occasionally travel to various locations to perform duties related to the role.

Implement the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, which includes recruiting, training, and managing volunteers; conducting outreach to clients; reviewing and submitting tax returns; coordinating with IT during tax season; and reporting to relevant agencies.

Manage the Financial Education Center's social media presence and participate in promotional events.

Develop and sustain partnerships with local businesses and organizations to promote the Family Education Center's programs and outreach efforts.

Maintain accurate records for reporting purposes on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.

Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum of one year of experience working with low-income and culturally diverse populations is required. Previous experience in delivering financial education is preferred. A solid understanding of personal finance management is essential.

An Associate's Degree or coursework towards a degree is preferred.

Attention to detail is crucial.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Familiarity with a strengths-based approach to case management.

Excellent customer service, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Ability to maintain accurate records and confidentiality.

Knowledge of community resources available to low-income households.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Public speaking and outreach capabilities.

Crisis management skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish, English/Khmer, English/Portuguese, English/Haitian Creole) are preferred.
