Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our team at Queen's Health System. As a Patient Access Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of patient information and services.

Responsibilities
  • Pre-register patients, verify insurance, and obtain necessary authorizations for inpatient and outpatient services.
  • Coordinate communication with clinical personnel and payment collection for patient services.
  • Provide administrative support to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
Typical Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to:

  • Finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Sitting, frequent gripping of an object, walking, standing, and occasional lifting of items up to 30 pounds.
Typical Working Conditions

This role is not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions, but may be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases. You will be subjected to many interruptions and occasional irregular work hours.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Ability to perform 7,200 adjusted keystrokes per hour.
  • One (1) year medical office, admissions, insurance billing, or customer service experience.

Experience should demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills in English, good interpersonal skills and telephone etiquette, knowledge and skills in use of general office equipment, ability to work under changing situations and interruptions, and ability to maintain highly sensitive, confidential material. Knowledge of medical terminology, third-party payer regulations, and financial requirements is preferred.
