Moffitt Cancer Center is a leading cancer hospital in the Southeast, and we are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Scheduling Coordinator Senior Float to join our team. As a member of the Clinic Access Department, you will play a critical role in handling patient calls and appointments, scheduling and registering services for all outpatient visits.

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of scheduling and registration for various services, including surgery, blood and bone marrow, integrated clinical services, diagnostics, labs, behavioral health, virtual health, research, and infusion. You will be responsible for registering and scheduling patients in the outpatient clinics, working collaboratively with team members as needed.

We are looking for a candidate with strong computer skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and experience working in an environment with competing priorities and demands. If you have a compassionate approach, accuracy in data entry, and critical thinking skills, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre-registration or registration of patients for appointments at the Cancer Center.
  • Communicate with ordering, referring, or attending providers and the patient to correctly schedule appointment procedures.
  • Explain required registration elements, including forms, to the patient when required.
  • Review documented instructions with patients to ensure they are properly prepared for scheduled procedures, tests, and/or appointments.
  • Work collaboratively with team members as needed.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2 years experience in patient registration and/or patient scheduling plus 1 year related customer service experience, or 1 year of relevant patient access and/or scheduling experience at Moffitt Cancer Center plus 1 year related customer service experience.
