Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Coordinator to join our team at SSM Health. As a key member of our clinical scheduling team, you will be responsible for communicating with patients, participants, and staff to accurately schedule patients for prescribed procedures and gather necessary demographic, insurance, and clinical information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather information from patients and enter it into the appropriate database, seeking resources to resolve issues related to procedure type, date, or location.
  • Schedule patient procedures efficiently, utilizing patient time and clinical resources, and coordinate and communicate schedules.
  • Assist with insurance pre-certification/authorization coordination and provide counseling to patients, participants, or their representatives regarding pre-service requirements and instructions.
  • Perform clerical and reception duties associated with patient registration and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
  • No experience required
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and gripping.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Rare climbing.
Department and Work Environment

This position is part of the CO Dane Centralized Operations department and will be working in a fast-paced clinical scheduling environment. The ideal candidate will be able to multitask, work independently, and provide excellent customer service to patients, participants, and staff.
