Position Overview: Risk and Patient Safety Manager

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Risk and Patient Safety Manager. This role is pivotal in enhancing the quality of care and ensuring patient safety across our healthcare organization.

  • Educational Requirements: A Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related discipline is essential. A clinical degree such as RN, PharmD, RPh, or RRT is mandatory.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years in progressive leadership positions within healthcare quality, risk management, and patient safety in an acute care environment is required.
  • Clinical Expertise: Proven transferable skills in clinical risk management and patient safety are necessary.
  • Registered Nurse Qualifications: Candidates must possess at least 5 years of experience in risk and patient safety as a registered nurse.
  • Membership Knowledge: Familiarity with the benefits and guidelines of being part of a Patient Safety Organization (PSO) is preferred.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead program transformations in risk management and patient safety is crucial.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strong capability to influence stakeholders, with systems thinking and adaptability to changing environments.
  • Communication Proficiency: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for this role.
  • Team Dynamics: Experience as an effective team manager and a reliable team member is preferred.
  • Knowledge Base: Familiarity with high reliability concepts, performance improvement methodologies, safety science, risk management practices, data analytics, accreditation standards, proactive risk assessments, safety culture surveys, and simulation techniques.

This is a full-time position with a day shift schedule. We offer a competitive salary structure.
