About the Role

The Assistant General Manager will serve as the primary point of contact and lead the reception team, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional customer experiences. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to drive business growth and excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day operations, including reception, reservations, community management, conference coordination, and space management.
  • Execute key objectives and client projects directed by the General Manager, ensuring timely and high-quality results.
  • Provide a high-profile, visible presence to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Ensure service standards are consistently met or exceeded, with a focus on achieving target audit scores.
  • Manage the performance of the onsite team, including training, development, and regular performance reviews.
  • Build and maintain relationships with executive committee administrators and high-level clients.
  • Foster strong interdepartmental relationships to drive collaboration and achieve business objectives.
  • Oversee the strategic booking of space to ensure maximum utilization of facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including Rapport policies and procedures.
  • Align the Rapport and client values to drive business growth and excellence.
  • Champion development within the account, conducting performance evaluations, succession planning, and ensuring a full understanding of all roles within the operation.
  • Ensure consistent and fair administration of all policies and procedures.
  • Lead projects and initiatives directly related to Rapport lines of business.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of management experience, preferably in conference center, hotel operations, or hospitality management.
  • Strong knowledge of conference center management, with a proven track record of success.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience in managing a business and a team.
  • Excellent customer service, business, and financial acumen.
  • Strong initiative, critical thinking, ownership, communication, multi-tasking, prioritization, and organization skills.
  • Champions the inclusion mindset and is proactive, positive, professional, and resilient.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrated work experience with reservation software platforms.
  • Catering or other food service-related experience.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and make decisions when faced with ambiguity.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change and maintain a flexible approach when providing customer support.
