Position Summary:
The Medical Receptionist plays a crucial role in the hospital's administrative operations, specifically within the billing department and allied health services. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at enhancing patient experience and ensuring efficient office functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, assisting with inquiries and managing check-ins for appointments.
  • Utilize an electronic scheduling system to efficiently coordinate patient appointments and send reminders.
  • Verify financial records, process patient charges, and expedite third-party claims.
  • Collaborate with the finance team for daily banking operations.
  • Coordinate with Triage Nurses to optimize patient scheduling and provider availability.
  • Maintain accurate patient records by confirming personal and billing information during each visit.
  • Oversee office inventory and equipment, ensuring adequate supplies and scheduling maintenance as necessary.
  • Engage in daily office activities, participating in meetings to enhance procedural efficiency and stay updated on policy changes.
  • Contribute to Mass Casualty exercises and other relevant events.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • At least two years of experience in an administrative capacity, preferably within a healthcare setting.
  • Certification in medical terminology is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work typically conducted in an office environment.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • May involve bending, stooping, and lifting up to 15 lbs.

Special Qualifications:

  • Must possess strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • This position is unaccompanied.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required.
  • Ability to obtain U.S. DOD NACI clearance is necessary.
  • Willingness to relocate as required.
  • A valid passport is essential and must be maintained throughout employment.
