Job Overview

Position: Procurement/Purchasing Associates

Key Attributes: The ideal candidate must exhibit strong motivation, practical judgment, and a solid work ethic. Responsibilities will be directed by the program buyer.

Educational Requirements: A Bachelor's degree is mandatory, accompanied by a minimum of 7 years of pertinent experience in Supply Chain management (planners are not required).

Professional Experience: Candidates must possess substantial Purchasing and Procurement experience.

Citizenship Requirement: Applicants must be US Citizens or US Persons (Green Card holders).

ROLE SUMMARY:

  • Execute Procurement processes, standards, and operational strategies, including Requests for Proposals (RFPs), negotiation preparations, and cost evaluations. Address client inquiries regarding order status, modifications, or cancellations to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct activities related to the acquisition of goods, materials, supplies, and services, ensuring that terms are favorable for the organization.
  • Generate purchase orders, authorize payments, and negotiate pricing to facilitate a seamless procurement process, operating under general guidance.
  • Compile price proposals, financial reports, and other relevant data to provide insights on competitive pricing.
  • Prepare Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and bid packages for new accounts. Monitor contract performance to ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Engage with suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries, resolving issues such as shortages and delays.
  • Demonstrate established and productive professional contributions.
  • Address complex challenges that may arise.
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision.
  • Influence colleagues within the work environment through clear explanations of facts, policies, and practices.

ERP/MRP Experience: While experience with ERP or MRP systems is preferred, it is not a strict requirement. Familiarity with SAP would facilitate a quicker onboarding process.

Commodity Focus: The role will likely involve various commodities, primarily including machined/sheet metal parts, vacuum-formed components, hardware, and electrical items. Other commodities may vary depending on the program.

Excel Functions: Daily tasks will involve utilizing Microsoft Excel functions such as Pivot tables, search functions, VLOOKUPs, sorting, and filtering.
