Our client, a prominent defense industry leader, is seeking a Procurement Specialist to enhance their operations.

Contract Duration: This position is structured as a 6-month contract with potential for extension or conversion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute procurement strategies, adhering to established processes and operational frameworks, including RFPs, negotiation preparations, and cost assessments. Address client inquiries regarding order status, modifications, or cancellations to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee the acquisition of goods, materials, supplies, and services, ensuring that terms align with the organization's best interests.
  • Draft purchase orders, authorize payments, and negotiate pricing to facilitate a seamless procurement process, operating under general supervision.
  • Gather price proposals, financial reports, and other relevant data to contribute insights on competitive pricing.
  • Develop requests for proposals (RFP) and bid packages for new accounts. Monitor contract execution to ensure adherence to contractual commitments.
  • Engage with suppliers to coordinate or expedite deliveries, addressing issues such as shortages and delays.
  • Act as an established and effective professional contributor.
  • Manage complex and challenging problems independently.
  • Influence colleagues within the work environment through clear communication of facts, policies, and procedures.

Required Skills:

  • Experience with ERP or MRP systems is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SAP is advantageous.
  • Negotiation skills for expedited options are preferred.
  • Prior experience in purchasing or procurement is essential.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, search functions, XLookUps, sorting, and filtering.
