About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at HII's Newport News Shipbuilding division. As a key member of our SSN(X) Platform Components team, you will play a critical role in the development of the next generation fast attack submarine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the components and distributed system teams
  • Develop and understand system requirements, researching and coordinating with vendors
  • Collaborate with Navy counterparts, producing technical reports and conducting periodic briefs
  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • 5 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 0 years of experience
  • Strong technical background, knowledge of NNS sourcing, and experience working with vendors and the Navy
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
