We are seeking dedicated part-time and per diem Practical Nursing Specialists to become integral members of our compassionate care team at Athena Health Care Systems. Opportunities are available across various shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and nights.

Compensation: Hourly wages range from $35 to $40, with additional pay differentials for evening, overnight, and weekend shifts. Enjoy the benefit of weekly pay.

Your Role: As a Practical Nursing Specialist, you will deliver direct nursing care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, overseeing daily nursing activities performed by nursing assistants to ensure the highest standards of care are upheld.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and meet the nursing and rehabilitation needs of residents.
  • Maintain and update care plans for all residents under your supervision.
  • Implement physician's orders accurately and promptly.
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care, including treatments and medication administration.
  • Document all nursing notes and patient records meticulously.
  • Conduct daily evaluations of resident needs and maintain awareness of those on alert lists.
  • Report any significant findings to the physician as necessary.
  • Initiate emergency procedures when required and ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Foster effective communication and positive relationships with residents and their families.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited LPN/LVN program.
  • Current CPR certification and an unencumbered LPN/LVN license.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of nursing practices, regulations, and long-term care guidelines.
  • Leadership qualities and a commitment to professional development.
