Job Overview

Position Summary:

A well-established energy services firm is seeking a skilled Senior Accounting Specialist to enhance their dynamic accounting department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately and efficiently process a substantial volume of vendor invoices, ensuring appropriate coding and authorization.
  • Conduct weekly reviews and analyses of corporate credit card transactions.
  • Identify and implement best practices and automation solutions to minimize manual tasks and improve accuracy.
  • Review and reconcile vendor statements, promptly resolving discrepancies and addressing inquiries.
  • Prepare and execute weekly/monthly payment runs via various methods including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
  • Assist in reconciling balance sheet accounts to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Support the month-end closing process.
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and audits as required.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in general accounting roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Proficient in spreadsheet software, particularly Excel.
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrates independence and possesses excellent time management abilities.
  • Prior experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Familiarity with the Sage Intacct system is advantageous but not required.
