POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Student Information Systems Technician collaborates with the Information Systems Manager/SIS Coordinator to address daily challenges and enhance services for students and staff utilizing Jenzabar EX, Banner, and the Jenzabar Internet Campus Solution (JICS/applicant and student portal) across all programs at LECOM.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Upholds and promotes the mission of LECOM;
Ensures confidentiality, maintains a professional appearance, and exhibits a positive demeanor;
Develops expertise in the Jenzabar EX/Banner user interface, including both standard software modules and customizations utilized by LECOM Admissions, Registration, Financial Aid, Clinical Education, and Accounting.
Provides help desk assistance for all users;Gains understanding of the interaction between the portal and Jenzabar EX/Banner, as well as the use of standard and custom portlets. Diagnoses issues related to course page creation and other functionalities governed by Jenzabar EX/Banner. Generates admission applications and online data collection forms;
Acquires proficiency in SQL for querying Jenzabar EX/Banner for reporting and troubleshooting purposes;
Responds promptly to support inquiries regarding Jenzabar EX/Banner and the JICS/student portal, keeping end users updated on the resolution process;
Configures and troubleshoots Jenzabar EX/Banner automated mail-merge correspondence;
Creates new reports and maintains existing ones;
Conducts weekly data quality assessments and rectifies discrepancies;
Offers individualized training to new Jenzabar EX/Banner users;
Provides support and troubleshooting for medical, pharmacy, dental, masters, and doctorate applicants using the JICS/student and Banner portal Admissions tab;
After mastering the Admissions module, begins learning and sharing responsibilities in the Registration, Financial Aid, Clinical Education, and Accounting modules;
Assists the Information Systems Manager/SIS Coordinator with additional tasks as required;
Contributes to overall student success;
Directly supports the Mission of LECOM by embodying the principles of Osteopathic Practices through participation in institutional fundraising and the LECOM Scholarship Auction;
Engages in scholarly activities to enrich and enhance the student learning experience;
Commits to representing LECOM by actively participating in community initiatives, including serving on boards and engaging in community fundraising efforts; and
Accepts other duties as needed to meet departmental requirements.

ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
Candidates should possess a strong interest in customer support, effective troubleshooting abilities, basic knowledge of database management, introductory SQL programming skills, and proficient experience with Microsoft Office.
Must demonstrate required knowledge and be able to articulate and perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations:Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
*Education and experience equivalent to a minimum of an Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Database Systems, or a related field, along with one to two (1-2) years of relevant workplace experience.
