Community Engagement Coordinator

Position Summary:
This is a part-time role (20 hours per week) within a non-profit organization focused on enhancing community involvement and improving neighborhood conditions in the Amsterdam area. The selected candidate will work under the guidance of the Regional Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential.
- Establish and maintain a consistent presence within the community, actively engaging with residents and identifying opportunities for collaboration.
- Keep precise records of resident interactions and participation metrics.
- Assist in organizing and facilitating Block Club and committee meetings as directed by the Regional Director and Ibero-American Development Corporation.
- Create and distribute materials for the community, including calendars, newsletters, and promotional content.
- Conduct effective outreach efforts within the community on a weekly basis, including flyer distribution, surveys, recruitment, and gathering resident feedback.
Additionally, the candidate should:
- Recognize and address needs and opportunities that can positively influence neighborhood residents.
- Monitor and assess progress to prepare necessary reports.
- Communicate work schedules with the Regional Director due to the flexible nature of the hours.
- Support the Regional Director and Ibero-American Development Corporation in managing resident-focused projects.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
- An associate degree in human resources or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of two years of experience in human services or event coordination.
- Competence in using various office equipment and software, including computers, copiers, and fax machines.
- A combination of training and experience that is deemed suitable for the role may be considered.

- Experience in facilitating and organizing meetings as required.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others in a team environment.

- Flexibility in scheduling, including availability for evenings and some weekends.
- Understanding of community dynamics and the ability to empower residents to collaborate for community betterment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience in creating and maintaining databases for reporting purposes.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the President or Regional Director.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.
- Skills to motivate and support others in achieving team and organizational objectives.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
- A positive and approachable demeanor.
