Position Overview:
This is a union role.

North County Serenity House, a program of HealthRIGHT 360, has been serving the community since 1966 by providing essential services for substance use disorders. Our facility offers a gender-responsive and trauma-informed environment, utilizing evidence-based practices that acknowledge the impact of trauma on substance use and criminal histories, particularly for women.

We provide integrated services for clients with co-occurring mental health issues, treating both conditions as primary. Our residential facility accommodates up to 120 women, including provisions for up to 20 children under the age of five who are seeking recovery.

Key Responsibilities:
The Intake Coordinator I is responsible for managing all aspects of participant entry into residential services, including:

  • Providing a warm welcome to participants and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Assessing treatment needs and coordinating necessary social, legal, medical, or other services.
  • Ensuring accurate completion of all required documentation within designated timeframes.
  • Utilizing electronic systems to maintain accurate records of intake and discharge dates, as well as child counts, to ensure compliance with licensing requirements.
  • Administering assessments using the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria and documenting diagnoses according to ICD-10 and DSM-5 standards.
  • Facilitating orientation sessions to familiarize new participants with program policies and culture.
  • Linking new participants with available support services.
  • Ensuring participants have safe and suitable accommodations.
  • Assessing and referring participants to appropriate levels of care while managing intake schedules.
  • Maintaining utilization within each funding source.

Qualifications:
Required Education:

  • Registration with Drug and Alcohol Certification recognized by the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS).
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • First Aid Certification within 30 days of employment.
  • CPR Certification within 30 days of employment.
  • A valid California driver's license and automobile insurance.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Drug and Alcohol Certification recognized by DHCS.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Background Clearance:
  • Must not be on active parole or probation.

  • Proficient in data entry with a focus on accuracy and integrity.
  • Professionalism, punctuality, flexibility, and reliability are essential.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
