Position: Industrial Operations Supervisor

Reports To: Regional Manager

Location: Salt Lake City area

Position Overview: The Industrial Operations Supervisor is accountable for the strategic planning, scheduling, estimation, and oversight of personnel involved in various industrial construction initiatives across multiple job sites, with project values reaching up to $10M. This role supports craft supervision in orchestrating the activities of workers engaged in the construction process, leveraging expertise in equipment, methodologies, procedures, and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage industrial construction projects from initiation to completion, focusing on sectors served by Loenbro, including energy, power, mining, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals.
  • Lead recruitment, management, and development of project teams, including Project Engineers, Field Engineers, Superintendents, and Foremen.
  • Supervise daily operations of team members.
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and verify the quality of completed work.
  • Guarantee adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, and subcontractor resources to facilitate timely and cost-effective project completion.
  • Promote a culture of safety and compliance with company policies among all team members.
  • Facilitate training for employees to ensure they are equipped to operate necessary machinery.
  • Assign tasks and monitor project costs and performance, including monthly forecasting.
  • Prepare detailed reports on job progress, expenses, and other relevant matters as required.
  • Support the planning of on-the-job training to enhance safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with various operational sectors to identify new opportunities for Loenbro.
  • Review and provide insights on overall project schedules, working closely with Project Engineers to update and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Generate cost-based estimates for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) submitted to Loenbro.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • At least 8 years of experience in industrial project construction.
  • A minimum of 4 years in a Project Manager role within Industrial Construction.
  • Familiarity with HCSS Heavy Job or similar job costing software.
  • Experience with P6 or comparable scheduling tools.
  • Proficient in Viewpoint or similar accounting software.
  • Knowledge of Heavy Bid or equivalent estimating software.
  • Competent in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Completion of OSHA or equivalent safety training.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Working Conditions:

  • Predominantly outdoor work environment.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Engagement in manufacturing, pipeline, and refining settings.
  • Ability to navigate confined spaces, including tanks and vessels.
  • Limited working surfaces.
  • Use of X-ray machines may be required.
  • Exposure to noise levels exceeding 85 decibels and strong odors.
  • Work in areas with restricted visibility.
  • Climbing and descending stairs and ladders, including scaffolding at significant heights.
  • Lifting equipment and materials weighing between 1-50 pounds regularly.
  • Walking on uneven terrain, averaging 2 miles daily.
  • Engaging in various physical activities, including standing, sitting, stooping, crawling, and kneeling.
  • Use of respirators may be necessary.
  • Driving may be required for travel.
