Position Overview

Under the guidance of the Project Management Office (PMO), this role is tasked with overseeing various initiatives within the NTT DATA, Inc. Cloud Services Division, managing the complete project lifecycle from inception to completion.

Key Objectives

  • Oversee all facets of project management and lifecycle processes by effectively initiating, planning, scheduling, controlling, and concluding multiple significant, high-profile projects.
  • Serve as a mentor and exemplar in project management practices, methodologies, standards, and change leadership.
  • Act as a pivotal leader by showcasing professionalism in project management, fostering enthusiasm for success, and promoting teamwork and collaboration.

Core Responsibilities

Responsibilities may also encompass assembling project teams, delegating individual tasks, identifying necessary resources, and developing timelines to ensure projects are completed on schedule. Communication with external stakeholders regarding project status is essential.

Establish and maintain a project schedule driven by efforts for each initiative by identifying and monitoring: overall project timelines, milestones, tasks, resources, dependencies, and critical paths.

Track and manage project performance (scope, time allocations, costs, conversion targets, and quality) through continuous evaluation of project progress and regular team status meetings.

Assess, monitor, and review all project economics, including expenses, staffing needs, resources, and associated risks.

Provide leadership and direction while integrating activities with other departments to ensure successful implementation and ongoing support.

Proactively identify and address risks and issues that may affect deliverables; develop and implement strategies for mitigation and corrective actions.

Monitor and report on project progress (including weekly time tracking, issue management, and risk mitigation).

Ensure that the project remains aligned with key objectives and goals while adhering to established methodologies. Develop and manage project expectations, ensuring all relevant functional areas are engaged.

Develop and execute project plans proactively from initiation through closure, applying established PMO Best Practices as necessary.

Ensure that the project remains on track by identifying issues and leading team members to resolve them, taking initiative to make decisions that align with project objectives.

Identify and manage risks associated with projects to minimize their impact on overall success.

Report on progress and escalate significant issues to management promptly to maintain project momentum.

Required Experience

A minimum of 8 years of professional experience is required.

At least 5 years of formal Project Management experience (e.g., PMI/PMBOK) utilizing a consistent and methodical approach to project delivery.

A minimum of 3 years of project management experience with Infrastructure projects, including:

  • Managed Service Provider/Hosted environments (Public or Private Cloud)
  • Server implementations
  • Firewall/security projects
  • Windows/Linux buildouts
  • Virtualization
  • Database server buildouts
  • Service Desk transition and operations

Experience in the Information Technology sector is essential.

Experience managing concurrent projects and teams in a global matrix organization with scalability to 10+ resources.

Experience managing medium to large-scale projects involving distributed resources and multiple data centers.

Solid experience in change control is required.

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Project Management work experience is necessary.

PMP Certification is required.

Required Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is essential.

Proficient in Project Management tools, including MS Project.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively.

Technology proficiency across managed services, infrastructure, application modernization, and AI.

Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in project management processes and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Excellent communication skills, with comfort in engaging with C-level executives and a proven ability to deliver articulate and effective presentations to diverse audiences.

Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence other functional areas.

Ability to manage a cross-functional team of multiple project resources, including partner resources and third-party vendors, effectively.

Capability to step into ongoing projects or those requiring recovery.

Detail-oriented with a big-picture perspective.

Self-starter with a proactive approach in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to operate independently and meet deadlines under pressure.

Problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis.

Extensive experience in meeting planning and facilitation.

Proactive identification, tracking, management, and resolution of issues and risks.

Status collection and reporting through documentation and status meetings.

Experience in managing multiple projects, priorities, and project scope changes.

Ability to collaborate effectively with project team members.

Preferred Skills

Experience with Waterfall and Agile SDLC methodologies.

ITIL Foundation Certification is a plus.

A background in Professional Services is advantageous.

Experience in the Financial Services sector is beneficial.

Experience in Life Sciences is a plus.

Familiarity with compliance and audit requirements is preferred.

Experience with Windows SharePoint Services is advantageous.

Experience with ServiceNow is preferred.

Working Conditions

This position is based in a general office environment, with options for remote work.

Occasional travel may be required (less than 10%).

This role necessitates flexibility, as off-hours work may be needed to coordinate with a globally dispersed team.
