Position Overview:

We are seeking a recent graduate for the role of Process, Estimating & Proposal Engineer within our Welding Division. This position will report directly to the Director of Processing & Estimating and will be part of a dedicated team focused on weld estimation. The primary responsibility will be to support North American projects and new request for quotation (RFQ) opportunities, with occasional travel required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret mechanical and control schematics effectively.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and/or AutoCAD.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Develop tooling concepts and layout drawings using Inventor or AutoCAD.
  • Create compelling technical proposals with strong presentation skills.
  • Collaborate effectively in an office environment and team setting.

Daily Tasks Include:

  • Reviewing and responding to new project RFQs and customer inquiries.
  • Compiling processes, layouts, and project proposals for customer submission.
  • Maintaining an updated list of new welding opportunities and assisting in prioritizing quotes.
  • Participating in RFQ line-up meetings and technical reviews with customers.
  • Reading and quoting based on customer specifications.
  • Managing multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Coordinating with internal project teams on commercial needs post-project initiation.
  • Preparing RFQ and RFI responses in the form of proposal letters and quotations.
  • Attending sales and marketing meetings and internal training sessions as necessary.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by the Director of Processing & Estimating.
  • Exhibiting a willingness to learn and work both in the office and occasionally at customer facilities.

Qualifications:

A Technical Degree is required, preferably in Welding Engineering, along with knowledge in mechanical and control systems.

Travel Requirements:

Minimal travel is expected, approximately 2%.
