Internal Candidate Eligibility Criteria:

1. Must be a Lincoln Electric employee with a minimum of 1 year of service.

2. Must NOT be on an active Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).

Position Overview:

The selected candidate will operate from Lincoln Electric's Shelby Township facility and will report directly to the Weld Systems Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

To be considered for this role, candidates must demonstrate the following:

  • Assist the Engineering Team with essential process activities throughout the design and assembly phases.
  • Understand mechanical and control schematics.
  • Evaluate assembly processing capabilities, including layout and cycle time analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Innovate detailed assembly process solutions, documenting with cycle time charts and layouts that align with the process.
  • Create standards and tools for the department.
  • Capable of processing various welding lines (resistance, MIG, projection, drawn arc, and mechanical fastening).
  • Familiar with weld gun selection, specifying electrode design, and spot distribution.
  • Utilize videos to validate, modify, and enhance process times.
  • Provide technical support to Mechanical Engineering Department Project Engineers.
  • Manage product and GD&T control, including station assemblies.
  • Analyze and assess machine ergonomics.
  • Develop and maintain formal cycle time documentation.
  • Maintain existing process documentation.
  • Monitor the floor during machine builds and buyoff to assess cycle times.
  • Utilize INVENTOR or ACAD for the development of tooling concepts and layout designs.
  • Review and respond to customer inquiries and engineering modifications.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meetings, and daily priorities within the team.
  • Willingness to work in the office and occasionally at customer facilities.
  • Coordinate with the Simulation group from the program's initiation to completion.
  • Monitor the floor during machine builds and buyoff to evaluate cycle times.

Qualifications:

  • Minimal travel required; approximately ~3%.
  • 3 years of experience in Technical, Proposal & Estimating, Engineering, and Weld System Design.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical and Controls aspects, with demonstrated Engineering, Estimating, and Conceptual Design experience for clients.
  • Competent in Inventor and/or 3D ACAD.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Physical demands: Regularly required to use hands for handling, talking, or hearing. The employee is expected to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Work environment: Typically moderate noise levels.
