Position Summary:

Fori Automation is in search of a recent graduate to fill the role of Process, Estimating & Proposal Engineer within our Welding Division. This position reports directly to the Director of Processing & Estimating and collaborates with a dedicated team of 3-5 professionals. The primary focus will be on supporting North American projects and addressing new Request for Quotation (RFQ) opportunities. Occasional travel may be necessary, and a background in controls design and build is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret mechanical and control schematics effectively.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Inventor and/or AutoCAD.
  • Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint competently.
  • Employ INVENTOR or AutoCAD for the creation of tooling concepts and layout designs.
  • Develop technical proposals with strong presentation skills.
  • Collaborate effectively in an office environment and team setting.

Daily Tasks Include:

  • Assess and respond to new project RFQs, customer inquiries, and engineering modifications.
  • Compile processes, layouts, and project proposals for customer submission.
  • Maintain an updated log of new welding opportunities and assist in prioritizing quotes.
  • Engage in RFQ line-up meetings with customers and participate in technical reviews post-quotation submission.
  • Review and quote based on provided customer specifications.
  • Manage multiple projects, meetings, and daily priorities efficiently.
  • Work collaboratively with the internal project team on commercial needs once a project is initiated.
  • Prepare responses to RFQs and RFIs in the form of Proposal Letters and Quotations.
  • Attend sales and marketing meetings and internal training sessions as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Processing & Estimating.
  • Exhibit a willingness to learn and work both in the office and occasionally at customer sites.

Qualifications:

A Technical Degree is required, preferably in Welding Engineering, with knowledge in Mechanical and Controls aspects.

Travel Requirements:

Minimal travel is expected, approximately 2%.
