Position Overview

The selected candidate will operate from Fori's Shelby Township facility and will report directly to the Weld Systems Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities

To be considered, candidates must demonstrate the following:
Assist the Engineering Team with essential process tasks throughout the design and manufacturing phases.

Understanding of mechanical and control schematics.

Assembly processing skills (including layout planning and cycle time assessment).

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


Develop innovative and detailed assembly process solutions, documenting the process with comprehensive cycle time charts and providing layouts that align with the process.

Create standards and tools for the department.

Must be capable of managing welding lines (including resistance, MIG, projection, drawn arc, and mechanical fastening).

Familiarity with weld gun selection, specifying weld gun electrode design, and spot distribution.

Utilize videos to validate, create, modify, and enhance process times.

Provide technical support to Mechanical Engineering Department Project Engineers.

Product and GD&T control (including station assemblies).

Analyze and validate machine ergonomics.

Develop and maintain formal cycle time charts.

Maintain existing process documentation.

Monitor the production floor during machine builds and buyoff to assess cycle times.

Utilize INVENTOR or ACAD for the development of tooling concepts and layout drawings.

Review and respond to customer inquiries and engineering modifications.

Ability to manage multiple projects, meetings, and daily priorities within the team.

Willingness to work in the office and occasionally at a customer facility.

Coordinate with the Simulation group at the program's initiation and follow through to completion.

Monitor the production floor during machine builds and buyoff to assess cycle times.

Education & Experience

3 years of experience in Technical, Proposal & Estimating, as well as Engineering and Weld System Design.

Minimal travel required; approximately ~3%

Knowledge in Mechanical and Controls aspects. Proven experience in Engineering, Estimating, and Conceptual Designs for clients.

Competent in Inventor and/or 3D ACAD.

The employee is required to sit/stand for extended periods.
