Position Overview:

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Senior Manager of Clinical Research Operations to oversee a research team dedicated to the Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence (TBI CoE). This center is located within a prominent military medical facility.

As the manager of the TBI Pathway of Care within the Military Health System, the TBI CoE is committed to providing cutting-edge care from the moment of injury through to reintegration for service members, veterans, and their families, aiming to prevent and alleviate the effects of mild to severe TBI.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and oversight for research activities and contract personnel at the local TBI CoE site and throughout the clinical research network.
  • Ensure timely, budget-conscious delivery of clinical research projects that meet quality standards.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with patients, healthcare providers, researchers, and community resources.
  • Comply with all relevant regulations regarding Utilization Review and Quality Improvement.
  • Participate in and present at professional conferences and meetings to share research findings.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of clinical research initiatives, including grant proposal development.
  • Work with TBI CoE leadership to create metrics for a successful clinical research program.
  • Support TBI research through collaboration with research professionals on study development and implementation.
  • Prepare proposals and assist with grant applications.
  • Facilitate effective communication and knowledge sharing among TBI CoE research colleagues.
  • Contribute to the writing of research manuscripts for publication in TBI-related fields.
  • Act as a liaison between TBI CoE and other stakeholders.
  • Provide expertise to senior leadership on TBI research issues.
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager to monitor contract activities.
  • Adhere to legal, professional, and ethical standards regarding confidentiality and privacy.
  • Perform additional duties as required by the position.

Essential Qualifications:

  • MD, PhD, MD/PhD, or a relevant terminal degree in a health or medical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in clinical and/or research activities focused on traumatic brain injury.
  • 5+ years of research experience demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
  • Strong ability to communicate and present research findings to diverse audiences.
  • High competence in clinical investigations, administration, and education.
  • Familiarity with military health systems and related psychological health issues is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Completion of CITI/HIPAA training is required.
  • Ability to pass a T3/NACLC security investigation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within the DoD/VA systems of care is highly desirable.
  • 2+ years of management experience is preferred.

The expected salary range for this position is $146,200 - $197,800, based on experience and geographic location.
