Position Overview:

The Military Health Team at General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Senior Clinical Research Director to oversee a research team focused on the Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence (TBI CoE).

In this role, the TBI Pathway of Care manager will enhance the quality of care from injury to recovery for service members, veterans, and their families, aiming to reduce the impact of mild to severe TBI.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and oversight for research activities and contract personnel at the TBI CoE site and within the broader clinical research network.
  • Ensure timely, budget-compliant delivery of clinical research projects meeting established quality standards.
  • Develop and sustain partnerships with patients, healthcare providers, researchers, and community resources.
  • Adhere to all relevant regulations regarding Utilization Review and Quality Improvement.
  • Participate in and present at professional conferences and meetings to share research findings.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of clinical research initiatives, including grant proposal development.
  • Collaborate with leadership to establish metrics for a successful clinical research program.
  • Support TBI research through collaborative study development with research professionals.
  • Prepare proposals and assist with grant applications.
  • Facilitate effective communication and knowledge sharing among research colleagues.
  • Contribute to the preparation of research manuscripts for publication.
  • Act as a liaison between TBI CoE and relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide expertise to senior leadership on TBI research matters.
  • Monitor contract program activities in collaboration with the Program Manager.
  • Maintain compliance with legal, professional, and ethical standards regarding confidentiality.
  • Perform additional duties as required by the position.

Essential Qualifications:

  • MD, PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant health or medical field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in clinical and/or research activities related to traumatic brain injury.
  • Demonstrated research experience with peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate research findings to diverse audiences.
  • High level of competence in clinical investigations and administration.
  • Familiarity with military health systems and psychological health issues is preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Completion of CITI/HIPAA training is required.
  • Ability to pass a T3/NACLC security investigation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within DoD/VA systems of care.
  • Management experience of 2+ years.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $146,200 - $197,800, based on experience and geographic location.
