Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Research Nurse to support the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This role is centered around clinical research, focusing on safeguarding human subjects and ensuring a patient-centered approach throughout their involvement in clinical research protocols. The Research Nurse will play a crucial role in protocol development, execution, and oversight, including the management of data collection that is essential for public health initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in formulating clinical research and protocol-specific standards of practice (SOP).
- Implement and evaluate process enhancement strategies to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and SOPs.
- Establish a nursing feasibility review process to evaluate the implementation of protocol trials within local nursing practices.
- Collaborate with principal investigators to finalize and implement corrective and preventive action plans.
- Oversee the activities of team members involved in trials, clearly defining responsibilities and expectations.
- Ensure adherence to clinical trial objectives and endpoints.
- Engage with healthcare team members in managing trials, reporting findings to the principal investigator, and summarizing clinical data as required.
- Develop and assess interventions to address recruitment and retention challenges.
- Conduct interviews and evaluations for patients screened for clinical trial entry.
- Monitor research participants for adverse events and report findings to the study principal investigator.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) or Associate's degree in nursing (ADN) with two additional years of relevant experience.
- A minimum of two years of experience in nursing, clinical, research, or related settings.
- Current nursing license in any US State.
- Ability to be credentialed by the NIH Clinical Center.
- Familiarity with federal regulatory requirements and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with NIH clinical trials is advantageous.
