Position Overview:

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Senior Clinical Research Director to oversee a research team dedicated to the Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence (TBI CoE). This role is pivotal in advancing state-of-the-art care for service members, veterans, and their families, addressing the challenges associated with mild to severe TBI.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and oversight for research activities and contract personnel at the TBI CoE site and throughout the clinical research network.
  • Ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery of clinical research projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Foster partnerships with patients, healthcare providers, researchers, and community resources.
  • Adhere to regulations regarding Utilization Review and Quality Improvement.
  • Participate in conferences and training sessions to enhance professional development and share research findings.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of clinical research initiatives, including grant proposal development.
  • Collaborate with leadership to establish metrics for a successful clinical research program.
  • Support TBI research through the development and execution of collaborative studies.
  • Prepare proposals and assist with grant applications.
  • Facilitate effective communication and knowledge sharing among research colleagues.
  • Contribute to the preparation of research manuscripts for publication.
  • Act as a liaison between the TBI CoE and relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide expertise to senior leadership on TBI research matters.
  • Work closely with program management to monitor contract activities.
  • Maintain compliance with legal, professional, and ethical standards regarding confidentiality.
  • Perform additional duties as required by the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • MD, PhD, MD/PhD, or a relevant terminal degree in a health or medical field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in clinical and/or research activities related to traumatic brain injury.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated research experience, including peer-reviewed publications.
  • Strong ability to present and communicate research findings to diverse audiences.
  • High competence in clinical investigations and administration.
  • Familiarity with military health systems and psychological health issues is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Completion of CITI/HIPAA training is required.
  • Ability to pass a T3/NACLC security investigation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within the DoD/VA systems of care.
  • Management experience of 2+ years.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $146,200 - $197,800, subject to adjustment based on experience and location.
