Job Title: Project Manager II

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager II to join our team at the City of Fort Lauderdale. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex municipal utility projects, including stormwater and seawall projects, and will work closely with engineering consultants and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and review engineering design and construction of complex municipal utility projects
  • Coordinate with other City departments, external agencies, and project stakeholders on City projects
  • Provide technical information and guidance on land development, water and wastewater utility construction, surface water management, and roadway improvements
  • Prepare required designs, specifications, estimates, and technical reports for special projects
  • Develop and review hydraulic and hydrologic models
  • Work with AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and other asset management software systems
  • Develop and review input/output analysis
  • Use Geographic Information System (GIS) and other modeling software for water, wastewater, and stormwater systems
  • Plan, design, and construct public works projects
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or other appropriate technical field
  • At least three years of progressively responsible post-graduate experience in design and construction of water and sanitary sewer improvement projects
  • Knowledge and experience in permitting for water, wastewater, and/or stormwater systems with local, state, and federal permitting agencies
  • Experience in developing and/or reviewing hydraulic and hydrologic models
  • Experience working with AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and other asset management software systems
  • Experience in planning, design, and construction of public works projects
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
