About the Role

Moss, a national privately held construction firm, is seeking a skilled Project Accountant II to join its team. As a key member of the accounting department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial integrity of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review contracts and agreements for accounting-related information and prepare financial statements for projects.
  • Communicate potential profitability or risk to management in a timely manner.
  • Support the month-end closing process and provide accurate reports as required.
  • Work closely with the Project Management team to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and manage accounts created for projects, including subcontractor billings and payments.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly submittals to clients.
  • Assist with the collection of accounts receivable and monitor accounts for potential issues.
  • Process payroll time sheet entries and collections for job sites.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate owner billing reconciliations to job cost.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to manage accounting reports and issues, and reconcile job cost detail for forecasting purposes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting (preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience in project accounting with a general contractor.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including V-Lookups and tables.
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, and think critically.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage confidential information.
