Job Title: Project Manager II

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager II to join our team at the City of Fort Lauderdale, FL. As a key member of our Public Works department, you will be responsible for managing complex projects related to water and wastewater infrastructure, stormwater management, and other public works initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement project plans, including project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, architects, and contractors, to ensure project success.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and identify potential issues.
  • Prepare and present project reports, including progress updates, budget variances, and recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in project management, preferably in public works or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, including Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software, including Asana, Trello, or Microsoft Project.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida or a related state.
  • Experience with water and wastewater modeling software, including Innovyze.
  • Knowledge of South Florida engineering standards and permitting agencies.
