Job Summary

Columbia University is seeking an experienced Administrative Director to lead the financial operations of the Department of Radiology. The successful candidate will provide strategic support to the Departmental Administrator and work closely with Directors of Operations, Finance, Revenue Cycle, and Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Assist the Departmental Administrator in improving operational and financial performance, making recommendations to improve operational performance, and planning, implementing, and monitoring departmental operating revenue budgets.
  • Financial Management: Participate in the development of operational policies, review department processes, procedures, and protocols, and work closely with CUMC FPO and CRO offices to enhance departmental faculty practice revenue.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with institutional cash management policies, oversee bank reconciliation processes, and prepare financial reports for various funding sources.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Hire, direct, and train financial work of administrative and support staff, and advise faculty and administration in long-range financial planning.
  • Audit and Compliance: Develop departmental audit processes, oversee the implementation and monitor action plans to address deficiencies, and ensure compliance with practice plans guidelines.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree plus seven (7) years of progressive related experience in a healthcare environment, or Master's degree with relevant experience.
  • Skills: Excellent oral and written communication, professional, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills, highly proficient in analytics, exceptional finance skills, and strong working knowledge of financial systems.
  • Experience: Prior experience with databases, medical billing, and revenue cycle, and ability to work independently and in teams in a fast-paced, changing environment.
